Under the theme « One SOMFY, One Team », we combine our strengths to benefit our customers, enhance each employee's experience, and elevate the Group's performance. This involves different ways of doing things, and sometimes different ways of working. Everyone has a role to play in our Group’s transformation.
To facilitate these changes, we have defined five behaviors that everyone, from the Executive Committee to the newest apprentice, is encouraged to adopt. These five behaviors are a compass guiding us every day, forming a connection among us. They make us unique and immediately identifiable as a SOMFY employee, whether in the eyes of a customer, a supplier, or a job candidate. Thus, these behaviors make up our “desired” culture:
- Focus on Customers: Customer interest guides our actions and our resources assignment. We act with empathy to understand our customers’ needs and develop the cooperation required to satisfy them, and create a fluid, efficient customer experience that nurtures trust over the long term.
- Take Responsibility: We have a sense of priorities and urgency. We focus on the Group's priorities, make the appropriate decision at our level, and ensure careful execution.
- Play One team: We play as a team in the interest of the Group, and we seek diversity in perspectives and experiences.
- Grow and Learn every day: We take responsibility for our professional development and skills to support SOMFY’s success and ensure our employability both internally and externally.
- Act Authentically: We engage authentically in all our interactions, fostering trust and constructive working relationships that facilitate cooperation. Feedback is a standard practice among us, helping us understand each other better and work more efficiently.

In 2021, the Executive Committee focused on defining our desired culture and the behaviors that support it. In 2022, we initiated a manager development program that will be fully rolled out by 2024. Now it's time to introduce these behaviors to you via testimonials from your managers. They'll discuss how these behaviors have impacted them and transformed their managerial practices.
Our desired culture is what creates common ground among us. To embody this culture, let's start by talking about it!
Tune in to our monthly podcast, featuring eight episodes with managers who have already put these five behaviors into action within their teams. A guide titled “Desired Culture at a Glance” will also be distributed to all employees.
In the second podcast episode, “Let's Talk About Our Desired Culture,” dedicated to “Take Responsibility,” six managers discuss how they practice and encourage this behavior in their daily work.

— On 12th September, we celebrated our 3000th BIP (Brevet Idée Produit or “Product Idea Patent”) registered with the intellectual property office since it was formed in 2001. The event was held at the R&D Centre, in the company of Jean-Claude Rivier, Philippe Geoffroy, and many other inventors. The BIP process feeds into the forty-odd new patent applications made every year by the SOMFY group.
