2023 SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT DAYS AT SOMFY
Better Living guides us to contribute to preserving the environment, develop our teams and have a positive impact on local communities, through the commitment of our employees and our corporate philanthropy initiatives.
For the third year running, you demonstrated your commitment by once again taking part in our Sustainable Development Days. This annual event celebrates progress towards delivering on our roadmap, based on our three pillars, PLANET, PEOPLE and PROSPERITY, takes stock of past actions, and outlines future Ambition 2030 milestones.
This year, we took the opportunity to combine this event with the chance to meet up with as many of you as possible. The program included three web conferences to bring you up to speed with today’s big issues:
Each site also organized local initiatives to spotlight our sustainable development challenges. Our colleagues in Italy set "mobility" challenges around bicycle-centered activities, and Poland ran a multi-sport challenge on "People & Planet & Mobility" along with a series of talks on "Company & Prosperity".
Lastly, the Cluses teams set up stands outside SOMFY Lighthouse and organized activities for employees on priority issues such as green IT, diversity, and customer and supplier relations. Organizers also mounted a challenge to reward non-profit organizations supported by the SOMFY Foundation and make visits to the "village” even more inspiring. A key player, the Foundation was present every day and, with the help of some non-profits, led actions on its new goal — "Together for better living on the planet".
Since we think it’s essential to reconnect with each other on key issues, we’d like to thank you for being there and for getting involved… with a smile on your face!

The Sustainable Development Days were also an opportunity to support our corporate Foundation’s partner non-profits, whose aims are in line with our three pillars.

[Our Performance] We continuously digitize our processes as part of a customer-centric approach. Our most recent milestone was the go-live of our purchasing management solution, Ariba. Our internal teams configured the tool in conjunction with three partner suppliers.

[Our Customers] The electronic components crisis has had several upsides for SOMFY. Firstly, we had to be responsive and creative to ensure business continuity and used this opportunity to strengthen our supplier relations.

— Somfy signed on May 15th an agreement to acquire 100% of the Dutch company De Haan Westerhoff. De Haan Westerhoff, a long-term trusted partner of Somfy Nederland, is specialized in the installation, maintenance and repair of external solar shading solutions (awnings, screens), especially in the non-residential project business segment (education, healthcare, corporate office). This transaction will enable the Group to seize growth opportunities in the non-residential project business segment, while confirming our strategy towards Services and strong commitment to sustainability. De Haan Westerhoff solely operates in the Netherlands, employs more than 200 people with around 70 trucks and recorded €37,6m sales in 2022. The transaction is subject to the approval of the Dutch Authority for Consumers & Markets (Antitrust) with a closing expected in the second half of 2023.
