Somfy launches its new
Zigbee in North America
|

“Key offers, like Zigbee are ready to meet customers’ expectations with success,” said Pierre Ribeiro in his “Greetings for 2023” speech. “Zig-what?”. To understand why SOMFY jumped on the bandwagon 7 years ago, follow the guide.
Zigbee is an IoT (Internet of Things) solution. It’s a global standard, developed by the Connectivity Standard Alliance (CSA), which allows smart objects to work together in perfect harmony regardless of their brands. This interoperability grants the customers a high level of flexibility. Since 2004, it has been implemented in smart homes and commercial buildings across North America, Europe and Asia.

“Somfy being a member of the CSA’s board is crucial. It ensures the Zigbee standard brings even more value to our offers. We are also very much involved in the Matter certification deployment. In a nutshell, it is the next step to connecting compatible devices and systems with one another,” explains Jean-Michel Orsat.

“Wireless communication technologies have evolved a lot since SOMFY launched its RTS protocol on the market,” says Bénédicte Simond. “Zigbee is now offering advanced features more adapted to the Windows Fashion applications and to the smart home environment.” In the upcoming months, Somfy will be launching its new Zigbee ecosystem in North America with 7 motors, controls and digital services. This new offer will provide attractive attributes to our customers — industrials, integrators and retailers — all the way to installers and end-users. As a matter of fact Somfy will be showcasing Zigbee offer at the « International Window Covering Expo » in Charlotte, next month.
