We’re about to release a solar version of our flagship rolling shutter motorization solution. Why? What’s new about it? What opportunities does it open up? Let’s take a closer look at our new solution: the RS100 Solar io.

The RS100 Solar io solution meets strong demand from our customers. “We’re hoping to regain our solar motorization leadership in a buoyant and constantly evolving market,” says Éric Sermet Magdelain, Global Product Line Manager Rolling Shutter. This solution will boost our momentum, grow our value, and allow us to offer innovative features. Moreover, it is eco-designed with our Act For Green label!

This new solution will provide tangible benefits for manufacturers, fitters and consumers. Manufacturers will be able to leverage the image and quality associated with the original RS100, in a version that is easier to integrate and more reliable. Fitters can take advantage of smart innovations and efficient connected solutions. Lastly, our end customers will benefit from a silent, reliable solution, interoperable with other Somfy connected products for optimal comfort. How? Our new Smart Comfort feature uses insolation sensors integrated into the panels to optimize the visual and thermal performance of homes.

The market launch of our new RS100 Solar io solution will be implemented in several major phases. The solution is going into production and is made logistically available in November 2022. Then, it will launch commercially in January 2023 to all our European customers.

Somfy has renewed its partnership with the Fédération Française de Ski for another four years. Doing so, Somfy keeps on sponsoring and supporting athletes. As the biathlon season kicks off in Norway this weekend and preparations for the World Cup in Annecy-Le-Grand-Bornand gather speed, athletes will be proudly sporting the Somfy colors. Don’t forget to give them a cheer!
