Advance your career at SOMFY

Advance your career at SOMFY

Starting a new professional life doesn’t always mean joining a new company. Because the SOMFY Group puts people first, it also promotes and encourages internal mobility. It’s a win-win situation ─ you get to build your career while SOMFY retains its pool of talent!

But what is “internal mobility”? Well, it covers everything from switching to a new role to taking on more responsibility, all within the same company. Mobility can be:
  • “vertical” by adding to your responsibilities
  • “horizontal” by starting a new job with the same level of responsibility
  • “functional” by changing function or role
And last but not least, “geographic” by moving within your country or abroad.

So, in practical terms, where do you start? Find out as much information as you can, share your ideas with your manager and local HR contact, and then check the vacancies on SmartRecruiters. Next, apply for the jobs you want. The hiring process depends on how things are done locally.

For more information on mobility within the company, take a look at our Internal Mobility Policy ─ the go-to document for all employees and managers.

Heikeil Yahiaoui tells us all about his career in a video. An operating manager, he joined SOMFY on a temporary contract 15 years ago ─ now that’s what we call taking your career in hand! And he’s not the only one to build a successful career inside the company. Each month on Yammer a different employee tells us more about their job mobility.

What’s the next step on your career ladder?

Make the move
SOMFY MAKE THE MOVE
Our new Group brands architecture will build and shed light on synergies between SOMFY Group brands and help to harness their strength. The SOMFY brand has cemented its pivotal role, and becomes the cornerstone of this architecture, ready to realize its ambition of being the Group’s aspirational brand.
The new "Make the Move” signature brings the brand up to speed with rapid digitization and climate change and calls on trade customers and consumers to make the leap by adopting solutions which have an impact on people not on the planet. Join the movement!

Remember: we don’t plan to reveal the new signature to customers or partners before January, so please do not share the video or the new signature. No spoilers ;).

This September, five members of our Newton Expertise Program were promoted to “Senior Expert Level II” in their field of technical expertise. The Program has three levels: Expert (Level I), Senior Expert (Level II) and Master Expert (Level III). This is the first time experts have been awarded Level II status, considerably widening the scope of their contributions and responsibilities inside and outside the company. Three employees also joined the Program this year when they were promoted to Level I. A special welcome event will be held for them on November 29 at SOMFY Lighthouse! Would you like to join the Newton Expertise Program? Contact Pierre Gerinière, Pre-Competitive Engineer.
