The 2021 Group Financial Results: A double-digit growth
SOMFY delivered a strong performance in 2021.
The Group benefited from very strong demand in the home market during the year and adapted to meet that demand to the best of its abilities despite the electronic components crisis and supply issues. The wide-ranging product redesign plan and the commitment of its teams were key to the success of this process of adaptation.
Consequently, its financial results for the year show a sharp increase. At €1.48 billion, Group sales were up 15.7% compared with 2020 on a like-for-like basis. All regions posted double-digit growth, with the sole exception of Central Europe, which was particularly impacted by the component crisis, but showed good resilience (up 0.7% on a like-for-like basis).
Profitability rose to a very good level: Current Operating Result (COR) increased by 15.5% to €301.1 million, while consolidated net profit rose by 21.8% to €259.4 million.
It is important to note that SOMFY also assessed its performance relative to the targets set in its We Act for a Better Way Sustainable Development strategy. All the assessment indicators highlight the fact that the Group is committed to a virtuous forward development path based on its three cornerstones of Planet, People and Prosperity.
The Group believes that the market fundamentals are likely to remain unchanged in 2022, but advises caution and vigilance in the face of persistent component shortages and the current geopolitical situation. SOMFY priority will be to maintain its current high level of proactive commitment to restoring optimal service levels for all its customers.
The Group intends to continue its expansion through acquisition projects. An agreement was recently signed for the acquisition of Teleco Automation, an Italian group, leader in automation systems for bioclimatic pergolas.

€1,478 million
Group sales for 2021.
Up 17.6% compared with 2020 in real terms.
Nevertheless, it is important to remember that 2020 was widely impacted by the Covid pandemic. When compared to the last pre-pandemic year of 2019, sales increased by 23.1% in real terms, reflecting the momentum in the home market.

Reinar Klagges is a Somfy Germany sales representative. His clients are mostly installers, who he helps upskill, including on smart home devices.
As for other Somfy sales representatives, the pandemic has changed how he works. Previously on the road, he now divides his time between in-person and online meetings. For Reinar, one thing is certain: the health crisis has strengthened his client relationships. So, what’s his routine like now?

SOMFY: building the future. What is the future of buildings? This was the question explored by SOMFY and 18 market players in partnership with EDHEC, one of Europe’s leading business schools. Participants outlined four scenarios for 2040, and 350 Master’s students developed 50 solutions to drive sustainable development in the building industry. This collaborative project has helped put Somfy on the right strategic track. Find the scenarios and solutions here.
