   INSIGHT

The duo
at the head of SOMFY

Duo de choc à la tête de SOMFY

In June 2021, SOMFY changed its governance with separate roles for the Chairman of the Board, Jean Guillaume Despature, and the Chief Executif Officer, Pierre Ribeiro.

What are their respective roles? It’s simple.
The Chairman leads the Board of Directors, which:
  • appoints the Chief Executive Officer
  • determines the company’s broad policies
  • approves the strategy and the budget put forward by the Executive Committee
  • controls risks

The Chief Executive Officer:
  • proposes the strategy and executes it
  • rolls out the transformation program
  • defines and deploys the corporate culture
  • and manages performance at SOMFY
This governances relies on Valérie Dixmier, Deputy CEO in charge of People, Culture & Organization, and on the Executive Committee. To know everything about this governance, watch this video.

The Board of Directors works closely with Executive Management to help it deploy our corporate project. The Jean Guillaume Despature and Pierre Ribeiro duo is based on mutual support, trust and teamwork.

Find out more about their joint messages in video for the 2022 New Year.

200 millions
200
MILLIONS
This is the number of motors sold to the end of 2021 since SOMFY was founded!
Better still, half of them, 100 million, were sold in the last decade!

“This underscores the fact that motorised openings are now an essential function in the daily lives of people around the world,” says Bruno Barlet, Head of Sales. “And as the share of radio and connected motors continues to grow, this is just the tip of the iceberg.”

According to Bruno Stragliati, Head of Operations & Supply Chain: “This is an amazing joint achievement by all of our functions and business lines. I’d like to thank everyone who has prepared the ground and helped to build this incredible momentum. And well done to our teams for their unstinting commitment!”

Houeida Ben Salem. Occupation: quality control

Houeida Ben Salem is a final product inspector at SOMFY’s in Zriba, Tunisia. With a broad smile on her face, she talked to us about her work and her career at the plant.

After four years as an operator and eight as an inspector, she’s proud to be part of the SOMFY adventure and to work at Zriba. Since it opened in 2005, her plant has produced no fewer than 63 million motors! Now she would like to visit other SOMFY production sites. Great idea!
